The mouse is not working properly

My laptop is getting slow, the batttery doesn´t work and I have to use it plugged to the current and now the mouse is not working. I have an exterior mouse. I don´t use the thingie in the keyboeard. That´s fine for some uses, but not for all of them. I don´t know if the mouse problem is just a matter of buying another mouse (it can be done at the nearest super) or if the laptop is telling me to throw it away and buy another. Not that I can do it. This one was given to me by my sister and I don´t have the money to buy one. This is not a nice way to start my day. I have had way too many things to repair and mend lately. And money doesn´t grow ontrees. Not here, anyway

@fufurinha Mine was getting too hot last year (up to 90 degrees), so I got the nozzle of the vacuum cleaner and sucked at the air intake on the underside of the laptop. That sorted it. If you use a laptop on your lap or leave it on a sofa too much, it accumulates lots of fibres inside. Core Temp is a good application to use. It shows the temperature of your computer's cores on the taskbar.

All of us have bad days. A laptop battery has a 2 or 3 years lifetime, but it does not mean that the laptop cannot live years more. Is the mouse not working at all, or not working correctly ? If it is an USB mouse you can try to plug in in another USB port and to restart your laptop. If it still does not work, you should probably buy another mouse...

@topffer Same here. Thae battery is vey expensive. But noone has is now either. As for the mouse, I can buy it when I do to the super, if I remembered to write it on my grocery list. Do yuo think that if I write it next to "meat" I´d buy an actual mouse? (I´m remembering your post about uncommon food)

@marguicha I have never seen mouse meat in a grocery shop. When I was a kid I was breeding white mice and my best client was a person who had pet snakes.

n@topffer I would not count on any super devoid of mice. When my kids were babies, the pediatrician told me to boil EVERYTHING (included sugar) for the babies. He had the theory that mice walked over all food. My father had white mice for experiments in the lab where he worked. He invited us to feed the mice on Sundays as the people who fed them would not go.

I always have a spare mouse, which is not an expensive item to buy. As for the touchpad of a laptop, I have used this on occasions but much prefer to use a mouse.

@marguicha I do not like the touchpads either, but they do serve a purpose if your mouse is not working. I have used a computer with keyboard only on rare occasions, but that can be a very laborious task.

The touchpad it fine but I don´t like it. I´ll have to buy another mouse.

mice are generally quite cheap to replace here - that may not be so easy everywhere. I the those finger-squiggle pads - I always prefer an external mouse. Hope you get one soon.

All I have to do is to remember when I go to the supermarket. They sell them there for a few dollars. The battery is something else and they are out of it whereI live. I hate the inbedded mouse of the laptop.

you have to consult a computer hardware expert.
