Television isn't what it used to be.

TV doesn't seem to be as good as it used to be

Maybe it's me but I don't think that there are as many good shows to chose from as there used to be. I could be wrong. I know there are more shows to choose from but most of them aren't anything I want to see. I was wondering if there was anyone out there who feels the same way. Don't know whether it's me or the shows they have been putting out there. What do you think?

We have a hundreds of tv channels and it is so difficult to find anything to watch. We tend to watch reruns of our old favourites.

I watch my TV shows on Roku hulu Plus. I have antenna TV for local channels, but do not pay for Direct TV or anything like that.

I watch a lot of old shows. Even if I have seen them a million times, I often choose to watch reruns of old shows. Every now and again I will find a new show that I think has promise, but eventually they either run out of steam, make up silly plot lines, or cross over the lines of good taste and I stop watching.

@Rollo1 in our house e find the same thing happening. We seem to drift back to the old shows. The new ones don't seem to have much substance.

I noticed it doesn't seem to be nearly as many good shows on TV. However, it is probably me, because it has to be good or I do not watch it.

I like a lot of what is coming out at present - there is a lot of SF which is a genre I love. I hate so called reality TV and talent-free talent shows though

@arthurchappell I don't happen to be much of a sci fi lover. I am glad you have found shows you enjoy.

I haven't had a TV for many years now. I just could rarely find anything worth watching. With my Internet habits wasn't taking time for TV anyway so I got rid ot it. The family shows instead of exhibiting good family ideals were filled with children demanding rights, disrespecting their parents and many teens involved in promiscuity. I am not a prude but find that behavior despicable and not enjoyable as entertainment. I did enjoy the old movie station but I watch movies online when in the mood for a movie. While some of the new movies are good also, many of the TV movies lacked substance and believability. Yes, I agree with you, not much worth watching on TV anymore, though I haven't seen what is on in the last ten years.
