I was not thinking to post another article today, but this news in Yahoo tempted me to write about it. It's about a man (Vietnamese-Australian) who got his Facebook accounts deleted multiple times because of his unique and "bad-sounding" name.
His name is - PHUC DAT BICH. If you read it like reading English words; man, you better not read it aloud as it sounds really bad!
But the actual pronunciation of the name PHUC is Foo.
In the Philippines one man was nicknamed "yodepu." His real name is Rodolfo. His friends started calling him yodepu because yodepu was his favorite expression. Yodepu is short of the swear-word : "Hijo de Puta" (Spanish). In English it is "Son of a Bi--h."
Have you ever met people with unusual names or nicknames?
Note: drawing shown above is my own creation.

"What's in a name? That which we call a rose by any other name would smell as sweet" - Shakespeare. This no longer holds water

That expression is mostly uttered by men from Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur in Northern Philippines.

Well , since Facebook deals in English they would pronounce that in English too and it's a foul sounding word indeed. No wonder they delete it .
As to " yodepu " ,, i also hear that word in my male cousins who when playing would suddenly utter that so i know it's a bad word .

I recall a pet dog of Rio Locsin when she was still the young sexy lady... She had a puppy named Kik_ with the i as the last letter. Another one is Pip_ again with the i at the last letter. Both mean the same but one in Tagalog and the other in another dialect up here north.

Oh! I heard about the Filipino one actually and yes, there are a lot of Filipino who have a rather very unique name. And yes, most of us goes with Rhose rather than Rose. I don't know, maybe it's culture? And oh, about the drawing, "Ano Ba Yan" is actually translated as "What is That" and you probably know that already. Lols.
