Do you check the expiry date of shampoo before you buy it?

The other day I spotted a sale for the shampoo that I used.
I grabbed hold of three bottles, and paid for them.
It was as good as getting the third bottle free.
When I was walking out of the supermarket, I met a friend who immediately noticed my three bottles of shampoo.
She asked about the expiry date.
I was taken aback. Who in the world check the expiry date of shampoo?
I, for one, never even thought of doing it.
I guess shampoo has a long expiry date, and anyway, the three bottles would not last me for years.

I don't check the expiry date on shampoo and honestly, I don't care if they expire LOL. I really don't think it matters much.. I think it just loses some effects. Like if you buy shampoo that helps your hair shine, it might not work so well after the expiration date. But I'm sure it still cleans fine.

I wonder why they want to put expiry date on shampoo at all.
i can understand that some ingredients are plant based, and it is better to have fresh ingredients.
However, after putting in so many chemicals into the shampoo, i doubt we can even see a drop of juice or flower essence.
