Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year for 2015

Don't know why but it came as a complete surprise to me that the Oxford Dictionaries Word of the Year for 2015 is: emojis.
The words that made the shortlist are also surprising to me. 
There were 8 words and 4 of those words were unknown to me. Never heard them said, never saw them written or used in a sentence!
Guess I've been living under a rock.

I don't read everybody's discussions. There are too many people at this site. Besides that, lots of people mention the same topic. I know. I've seen them.
I don't think you and I have ever crossed paths. Think I'll go check out some of your discussions.

@cmoneyspinner Please do not worry and don't get frazzled on this site there is a lot of repeat. Not long ago we had the site filled with BB posts and soon we grew tired of this one. This one is funny 
and we had such a good time
