3000 men took 3 years to build the RMS Titanic and one iceberg to sink it

RMS Titanic was a magnificent ship. 3000 men took 3 years in Belfast to build the RMS Titanic at Hartland and Wolff shipyard. I can imagine the pride when they saw the completed ship. If you told them that their effort of three years would come to waste in the first journey of RMS Titanic, they would not believe it. They would want to see RMS Titanic sailed for a hundred years. As fate would have it, RMS Titanic did not even complete one journey in its short lifespan of four days. The effort of 3000 men working hard for three years was no match for an iceberg. If RMS Titanic did not sink, it would still make history for being one of the largest cruise liners to sail the oceans.

My ancestors came from England to New York on the Teutonic which was a sister ship of the Titanic. It had much better luck thank goodness.

It has more to do with humans than luck. If the captain of the Titanic respected the force of nature, instead of challenging the ice berg, history would be different.

@scheng1 I am quite sure that mine didn't take that far north route but they came in April. Of course he couldn't see the iceberg until he was nearly on top of it. I think the builders had encouraged the arrogance saying it was unsinkable.

But it would not have been remembered in history like it is today!! Today we have so many big cruise ships...and we don't know a thing about them!!

Actually we know a lot about many large cruise ships. Information is available online. If we have the interest in cruising, we will take the time to check on it. If you are going on a cruise, you will definitely want to find out about the ship you will sail on.

@scheng1 If we have to use something, we will definetely search it!! I am talking about things that exist but aren't a common days occurence! Like, there is a game call Cricket , I dont know if you have heard it or not but it is also online, and until you will watch it or will play it you will not pay any attention to it!!

Titanic ship is a proof that there is nothing invulnerable in this world so no one could really boast. Every one could be destructed at any one point whether it be big or small, whether it be strong or weak.

It also shows that no matter how advance science and technology is, nothing can beat the power of nature. Nobody has the power to stop natural disasters. The best we can do is to avoid it.

Yeah there was some pride with the ship as they claimed it could not sink.
