My Trip To Switzerland

I have been to twenty-five different countries and I count Switzerland as my favorite so far. I always WANTED to go to Switzerland from the time I was a small child and saw pictures of the Alps and the movie "Heidi" although that movie was about Austria. I got to go to Austria too on this same trip and also to Germany and also to Liechtenstein.
It was everything I ever dreamed it would be, too. I was NOT disappointed.
We stayed in a very interesting hotel in Lucerne and from there traveled to the other countries. There was a 500 year old covered bridge that we were planning to see, but just a few months before we were to go, an arsonist, we were told, caused the bridge to burn, almost destroying it completely. They were in the process of restoring the bridge when we arrived.
We could see it from a distance, but could not go through it. Sad that someone would deliberately do that. You have to wonder WHY?
The part that I love the best though was a train ride up through the Bernese Oberland to Berne, the capital of Switzerland. Looking out of the windows on the train, we could see one beautiful scene after another.
Sparkling blue lakes, Chateaus and Villas on the mountainsides. It was like a dream come true for me. It was February and there was snow on the mountains. And in Berne, it began to snow while we were there.
What a wonderful trip, and thanks to the company I worked for, it was all FREE.
This trip needs to be on everyone's Bucket List, a place to go before you die.
Have you ever been to Switzerland? Do you live in Switzerland? Tell me about your experiences there. PLEASE.

It is a really beautiful country and what I noticed the most was the cleanliness of everything. Even in the city, everything was neat and clean. The train was neat and clean, the shops and restaurants too.

I hope you get to go to Switzerland some day. It is a beautiful country and I love the Alps mountains. I'm sure it is very different from where you live in India. You should write an article about Delhi and tell us all about where you live. I enjoy reading about other countries. What is a typical day like where you live? What kind of work do you do? Do you have a large or small family?

I always say that you can judge what a place will be like by the adjectives people use to describe it. If 'clean' is in the top three, then I know it will not be high on my list. I've been to Switzerland many times. I like the accent and the mountains but I find it very sterile and controlled. It's like a country out of 'The Stepford Wives'.
