How often do you get to have a lie in ?

Due to mine and Stewart's work patterns not being the same I get a lie in one a fortnight. I work 9-5 Monday to Friday he works shift work but has every other weekend off. So in the week Stewart is normally in work earlier than me so I get up with Vinnie at around 7 and he gets up at 6. If he's on a late he gets up at 8 when I leave for work. On the weekend he works I get up at 7 with Vinnie and he gets up around the same time to get ready for work. On the weekend he is off I get one lie in and he gets one lie in. Today was my lie in although Vinnie didn't get up until 9am so really he got a lie in as well lucky lucky. I didn't get up until 11:20 which is really late for me even when it is my lie in day. I was just shattered and could have slept longer if Vinnie wasn't being so noisy down stairs. Stewart and Vinnie both went up for a nap around 12 so I get a few hours to myself which is rare and very nice. Do you get much chance to sleep in or are you up early every day ?

@shellyjaneo I have a two year old daughter but I have someone in the family who help me taking care of her. So even if I stay in bed late she is okay. But I make sure she eats and everything.

Although I'm glad I have a job I would love to be able to have a lie in whenever I wanted, but even if I didn't have a job I wouldn't get a lie in because of my little man x

@hlfbldmom That would be nice, my family all live hours away so can't help. My mum does visit every now and then though and I normally try and get her to get up in the morning with him. Sometimes she says yes x

I wish I was bright and awake at 6am but unfortunately I am not, but I end up going to bed later than I plan every day. I guess if I was retired I might get to bed earlier and could therefore get up earlier x

I'm the one who gets up with the kids. I'm lucky if the kids let me stay in bed until 7. For me, that's sleeping in.

@shellyjaneo my kids can be a little grumpy too when I have to wake him up. Oh well ... Such is the life of a parent, I guess.

@dodo19 It is indeed, he normally gets over it pretty quickly though luckily. How many little ones do you have ? x

Oh gosh I feel for you, Luckily Vinnie has started sleeping later recently. Although when he is nursery that's not so good as I have to wake him up and I hate doing that as it makes him really grumpy. x

I would still have to even if I wasn't working because of my little monkey, but I guess I should be grateful that I am working x

As I'm retired, every day is a lie-in day if I want it to be!

That must be nice, I don't wish to be retired soon as I still have probably 40 years to go but at least I know I can catch up on my sleep one day lol x

@shellyjaneo Oh no, don't wish your life away, but there are definite compensations for getting old.

@jaboUK That's what I was thinking, I can have some lie ins when Vinnie is all grown up but then I will probably have grandchildren waking me up instead x
