Smartphone Sat Nav App That Does Not Need Internet

I want a smartphone Sat Nav app that does not require internet or wifi to use. So far I have come across only Scout that enables this but again it uses internet for most of its functions so it would be useless to use unless I pre plan my route before a journey. Does anyone know of a free smartphone app that uses just normal Sat Nav features to guide us to our destinations without the need of the internet? Preferably for the iPhone 4s :D

Oh, fudge. There's one for Android that I tested through Mechanical Turk a while ago, but I can't remember what the name was. I'll have to look through my account to see if I can find it. It had a massive file to download initially, but once that was on the device it could work offline without any issues. I think they mentioned that there was also an iPhone-compatible version.

@gudheart It doesn't seem to be available anymore, unfortunately. I'll see if any of my Facebook friends who have iPhones are familiar with an app that does what you're hoping for.

Sorry I don't, I use Goggle maps on mine and it seems to work ok. What data size do you have? I'm on the bigger bundle one on o2 and have the 2GB of data. I didn't that plan until a month or so ago, but gave them a ring because I'd been on the same one for about 3 or 4 years.

I never knew this existed until you mentioned it! I hope you find this feature for your phone.

The phone ones do, but normal Sat Nav don't as they use a GPS system. Wonder why they can't incorporate that to phone apps too.
