The capital of Panama is Panama City. Most people in the world know that the Panama Canal passes through the country of Panama and that this canal links the Atlantic Ocean with the Pacific Ocean, but there is much more to Panama than the canal.
Many different cultures of people live in Panama, and many come from a mix of indigenous and European ancestry. The official language is Spanish. More than 1600 islands are scattered along Panama's coasts, where many persons fish in dugout canoes. The land consists of cool mountain woodlands, savannas, and humid rain forests. Many grow their own food.
I have always wanted to go through the Panama Canal on a ship I have read much about this adventure and it intrigues me.
Have you ever been through the Panama Canal? I will share some other facts with you later.

I didn't know about the islands either. It's like the Philippines and other island chains. There are a lot more islands than you think there are. About 7000 islands make up the Philippines.

What's the name of the book? I have read a lot about the canal and the history of the building of it is incredible, what all they went through to get it done. Most people have no idea what all was involved.
