Hello Lotters, This is all over the news in Metro Manila for the last three years, actually this news came up two years ago. But only this month were the new FA-50 light combat planes arrived in the country, just two. We ordered like twelve of them and they will be delivered by batch. then weapons will follow. It's desperation actually because of the Sea Disputes, we were forced to renew our airforce. I still believe these could have happened years ago if our people didn't vote for corrupt politicians. though were getting new stuff in the military, they're not new or modern. In fact, I think those are just trained planes for our pilots to be prepared for the RAF type.

Happy and sad at the same time, Philippines was one of the first countries in Asia to go supersonic with F5 jets, the Blue Diamonds was the best in Asia but we left it all to deteriorate due to corruption. 10 years with no real fighter jet to guard our skies, actually the kai F-50 is just an advance trainer that doubles as light fighter, it's just to fill the gap to train more pilots till we get real MRFs,, most likely block c F16s or the Swedish SAAB jas Gripens. Anyway i think we are back, one step at a time, so congrats PAF

Hello @louievill It's nice to see you active here again. you know what, those past days are really over because of neglect over the past ten years. yes, neglegence because of our mistake in voting people who has no care for the military. yes, f-50 is just a trainer for the Gripen euro fighter.

@Letranknight2015 nice to see you too my friend, yes everything you said is right so we have some catching up to do., Euro fighter typhoon is i guess just to expensive for us right now[, it's most likely JAS Gripen or block c F-16s coz the FA-50s are virtually just smaller versions of it with limited capabilities so transition won't be that hard.

@louievill well, there's no point of buying them with out having our pilots trained first.

We can look at the modernization as long overdue but definitely appreciated. No country as big as ours should be allowed to exist without an air force. We need it for relief efforts and rescue operations. It seems the current government did something right.

Hello @Beatburn Yeah, but some of them were also during the last administration. though they were flaws too, but people still complain about it as if they have no patience at all for progress.
