The dogs in my house: Zoe

I know, I know! I can hear it now! "But, you're a crazy cat lady!" And yes I am, but we do have 3 dogs as well, also all rescued. The oldest is Zoe. She's a German Pointer mix, and the mix is something smaller than a Pointer because she's only about 35 - 40 pounds. She was rescued after she had broken her leg, leaving one of her front legs bent. She is going to 15 in the spring. She obviously aches, sometime holding that front leg in the air, and other times obviously hurting in the back end as well. Since last year, we realized that she's also nearly totally deaf. She's the roomie's dog. I can see the logic of having a dog in the yard, but they are in many ways, more work than the cats. And, no, they aren't in the yard all the time, but nobody knows when they are or are not. We actually bring them in at night because we don't want them to bark and disturb the neighbors. We've also been keeping them in when its cold, after all, they aren't young and they are short haired.
