Do You Like To Sing Karaoke?

United States

I have sang on stage my whole life. I used to sing with live bands and even sang on TV once years ago. Now, I love to go to karaoke and sing. I have a few friends who enjoy it as much as I do and we always have a good time. I also have a karaoke machine at home and we get together here sometimes and sing. I enjoy singing a variety of songs. Patsy Cline's "Crazy" and "I Fall To Pieces" and some of her other songs too. Do you like to sing?

I probably possess the worst singing voice in history, so I could never inflict anything so horrific on the unsuspecting public.

@IreneVincent Even singing on key would be a formidable task for me. Being a lover of opera only serves to make me more aware of my total lack of vocal talent.

@Asylum I can sing opera but its not my favorite thing to do. I would rather sing country music.

A Don't be so hard on yourself. My youngest son says the same thing. He did NOT inherit a singing voice unfortunately. My daughter and my granddaughter both sing very well and sometimes we all go together to sing karaoke. My oldest son is very musically talented. He plays a guitar and the keyboard, but although he can sing on key, his voice is not strong. My twin boys both can sing and do go to karaoke sometimes.

I love to sing and listen to others sing. My husband had a really musical voice and was a great dancer, had lots of rhythm. Unfortunately I missed out on the rhythm and tone. But it doesn't stop me singing and dancing whenever I can. I have a friend who is 80 and she just loves to get out there and dance, amazing

Singing is good for the soul!! Whether you're good at it or not. That's what I think!

I don't mind singing, if I'm by myself. There's only been a few times when I've sung in front of others, but it's not something I do often. It's been a while. I don't think my husband has heard me sing.

@IreneVincent I might try it. I know my husband and a friend of his had thought of taking me and this friend's wife to do some karaoke. This was years ago. Didn't end up do it, but maybe one day.

Karaoke is a FUN way to get out for an evening and enjoy yourself with friends. Even the "not so good" singers get lots of applause for their efforts, because it does take courage for some to get up and sing in front of a lot of people, especially if they have never done it before.

I go to my regular karaoke bar every few weeks and sing. It's fun and a great way to get out and have some adult time.

I don't sing myself, but I enjoy seeing and hearing others try. Here in Spain we often go to a bar specialising in karaoke, and it's great fun. I'd love to hear you sing.

@IreneVincent I'm sure I wouldn't regret asking! I hope you can find out how to do it.

I have a few recordings of myself on a CD, but don't have any idea how I could get them on here. Maybe someone could tell me how I might do it, or if it's even possible. You might regret asking though. Hah!

I love to sing but most of the time the song doesn't like my voice. LOL

@IreneVincent Well, I guess I just need more time to practice more to be a good singer.

@star4u Yes, to sing karaoke I had to practice for quite a while. I was used to singing with live bands, where the band would follow me. But, with karaoke, I had to follow the music and the words up on the screen. It was a whole NEW concept to me, but I bought some karaoke CDs and I practiced and practiced until I learned how to do it. Now, it's so easy for me to do it. I'm glad I took the time to learn how to do it. It's a lot of fun and I enjoy it so much.

@marlina You should try it some time. It is lots of fun, but more difficult than you might think unless you practice singing with just the music playing. I found that when I first started the words came up on the screen faster than I realized and I messed up big time. But, then I started practicing and got much better.

I used to be a "great" singer, or at least a "good" singer, now I'm an OK singer, but I still enjoy it. My voice is not as strong as it used to be when I was younger.
