I'm a strong believer in the Word but seems something to me needs to be cleared.
Dec is here and everyone is in the mood for Christmas celebration.
But my question is whats the origin of the Christmas celebration? Why on 25th? Whats the Bible position on the day?
Your say Please.

A very important factor is that Jesus was not born on December 25. In fact we don't know the precise day.
So, If God or Jesus wanted us to celebrate his birthday, it is only logical that he would give us the day.
Theological scholar Andrew McGowan examines how December 25 came to be associated with the birthday of Jesus and became Christmas, a holiday celebrated by Christians around the world.

@jbaraka Yes, please read 1 John 5:19 and 2 Thessalonians 2:9-12 and you will understand what is going on.

Dec.25th isn't even Christs birthday, but it is the birthday of many pagan gods. The Bible says to "divorce" ourselves form pagan traditions.
Jesus didn't celebrate His birthday, the Bible doesn't tell us to celebrate it.

@jbaraka Yes! Because everyone else is doing it! We're supposed to be set apart from the world. We're supposed to be different. Instead of worrying about pleasing God, we please man and ourselves.
I'm happy to give up the stress, the mess and the expense of xmas, for my Lord and Savior.

When answering that question, I would ask that one consider who is honored at Christmas? If one is giving thanks to God for the gift of His son, then how is it possible for that to be a sin? That is what makes one's celebration of Christmas right, or wrong. Remember as Paul says, one honors a day honors it to the Lord...and we are not in the place to judge another's servant, as he says in Romans:)

I'm for the idea of everytime any day you can worship the Lord. the same Paul talks about honoring different days all for the Lord. But let me ask you. why is there no mass when Islam are having Ramadhan? and in the same light worshiping the Lord.
Please in examine Zachariah 3 and learn that even when u worshiping God just watch out u might be carrying the mark of satan with u. also see Matthew 7:21

@jbaraka well, in one sense the entire issue is almost as if people judge others for saying "thank you God for the Gift of your son"-worshiping God from a greatful heart is not at all contrary to having Jesus as Lord, it is infact part of the heart of His teaching:)
