Song Line of the Day

Sometimes something will happen that gets a line from a song running through my mind. Not the entire song, just a line or two from it.
The insanity that we've endured this year brought to mind a song by the incredibly obscure Wisconsin band E*I*E*I*O called "Blue Mountaintop." (To prove just how obscure they are: there's nothing on them on You Tube, and usually you can find anybody on You Tube!) It's a song about getting away from it all, with the chorus of, "going away to live on a blue mountaintop, high above the world on a blue mountaintop."
When we have politicians saying they want to ban an entire religion (with no consideration that terrorists might LIE about their religious beliefs to gain entry into the U.S.) and people who think that one skin color's "lives" matter more than any other, and people who think that killing other humans is a video game, I can't help but agree with a line in that song:
I've had enough of people and this sick society
Living in the city don't do anything for me
Maybe I should find a "blue mountaintop" myself.

Courage. Kindness. Friendship. Character. These are the qualities that define us as human beings, and propel us, on occasion, to greatness.
