why does Rudolph have a red nose ?

I mean ....it's not normal is it ! Reindeer do not have red noses ! So, has anyone ever asked the question as to why his nose is red ? Does he have a cold ? In which case Santa is naughty making him work when he is ill !

Maybe he makes a bit of extra cash with a part-time job as a clown and simply forgot to take his nose off?

Never thought of that ....of course, circus in the summer then Christmas with Santa ....I wonder if he owns up to the tax man that he has two jobs !

Of course reindeer don't normally have red noses. That's why Rudolph was unique. My understanding is that he got a patent on the red nose process.
