Free hotel room is the birthday gift

The casinos love to give out free hotel room, especially when it happens to be your birthday month.
When hotel rooms are given out so freely, many recipients do not value the free rooms.
They start to compare the differences in the birthday package.
When they see that one person gets 2 nights of free stay, with gift voucher, and free breakfast, they are not happy with their own 1 night free stay.
The free hotel room comes with certain terms and conditions.
There is a stiff penalty for no show.
I think that is fair. If you book the room and never turn up, you are depriving others of the chance to book the room.

Yes, I think it's fair if the person is a no show - there will be a penalty. Because by confirming you're reserving and not showing - it could have been a room for someone else who needed it.

@scheng1 Yes, a hotel room is costly especially at a casino. Even though they do make money already!!

I go to the casino once or twice a year but never get a free room. And if you cancel ahead you don't get penalty.

Casinos gave out free rooms to those who gamble or to be known as a big spender!

That is not the way the marketing works.
Those who are regulars will go to the casino regardless of free rooms or not.
Casinos give to those who seldom go, and do not spend big.
Casinos want to hook those with free rooms, so that they can become regulars.
It is the same with cruise ships.
