Day 2 – Skilled Workmen 2 Chronicles 2 We all have things we’re good at. Some people are better at different tasks than we are. When it comes to assigning people different tasks, we can all name the best person for the job. Solomon had many laborers for building the temple. What he didn’t have were skilled workmen. For that he sent to Hiram, king of Tyre for help, and Hiram sent him what he asked for. As Christians, we have all been assigned tasks for the kingdom of God. 1 Corinthians 12:27 Now ye are the body of Christ, and members in particular. 28 And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues. 29 Are all apostles? Are all prophets? Are all teachers? Are all workers of miracles? 30 Have all the gifts of healing? Do all speak with tongues? Do all interpret? We don’t all have the same gifts, but we do all have gifts by which we work to fulfill the work of the kingdom of God. We are also obligated to do the work of the kingdom to the best of our ability. 1 Corinthians 10:31 Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God. (KJV) Just as Solomon knew where to get the best workmen for the work of the temple, and they did their best work, we too are to do our best work for the kingdom of God. Let’s pray: Father, help me to do my best work at all times, no matter what I am doing. In Jesus’ name, I pray, amen. Copyright © 13 December 2015 by Valerie Jean Routhieaux Image courtesy of Pixabay

And no job is more or less important than another one, no matter what people say
