For months I have led a pretty isolated existence, only leaving the house to do local errands and such. Since the week before, Thanksgiving, my life took a turn and has been a chaotic jumble of fun and adventures. Dining out, movies, festivals, volunteerism, socially interacting with friends and family. I felt the happiness around me and experienced the laughter of others. This week, however, I noticed the people around me are more terse, and stressed as Christmas draws nearer. Personal, family, world news and financial worries are plaguing them. I am just concerned because they are not letting their light shine through and sadness and depression is now taking hold. To those that are experiencing the dark right now...please try to find a bright star in the sky and focus on it.. and then let the sun back in.

Do not worry about it. They will be very happy with all the hard work and preparation when Christmas is here. They will be very happy for the week after Christmas too. Perhaps when they get the credit card bill in January, then they will start to worry again.

I do know that a lot of people go through different emotions during the festival season.. somehow for me life is one long celebration.. I can only give thanks and let my light shine through everyday.
