Youtube Of The Day - Neil Hannon – Songs Of Love

A very moving love song, normally played by Neil Hannon’s band, The Divine Comedy. I remembered this from my current look at Dante’s The Divine Comedy, from who the band got their name. They are best known for the National Express song, but Songs Of Love is memorable and instantly recognizable because an instrumental segment of it was used as the theme to the brilliant TV series Father Ted. This video of Hannon’s solo acoustic version of the song was played live on an Irish TV shows as a tribute to Dermot Morgan, the actor who played Ted, only to die young just days after the series ended.
