Is The Media Out to Destroy Donald Trump?

What is the media doing to try to destroy Donald Trump? It’s easy to see. All you need to do is watch nearly every newscast. Newscasters are trying to destroy Trump with Ted Cruz’s apparent lead in the polls in Iowa. How is the media doing this? They are focusing on Cruz’s lead making it sound as if Cruz is ahead of Trump in all states. They are hammering away at the fact that Cruz is ahead and are very low key about the fact that it is only in Iowa–not in all states. What the media knows is most people will follow the leader. If they can convince people who are on the fence with Trump and Cruz that Cruz is leading, then maybe they can get enough fence sitters to back Cruz. They may even get some of Trump’s supporters convinced that Cruz will win. This may get those Trump supporter to follow Cruz. The media is powerful. They know if they can get people to believe certain things they can change the public’s perspective. They can tailor a news story and headlines to mislead people. They can use headlines like: Cruz Leads Trump In Polls. The media just leaves out the fact that it’s polls for one state. Then they will bury the fact that it is only in one state in a sentence in the middle of the story. Anyone who has studied writing for publication knows that what most people remember overall is the first and last of a story. A quick little sentence in the middle of the story can be easily forgotten by the end. Drive hard that Cruz is leading Trump in the polls at the beginning. Then in the middle make a seemingly inconsequential remark about it being only in one state. At the end flood the story with figures showing how far ahead Cruz is in the polls. Simple. Now people are thinking Cruz is ahead of Trump–period.

The thing I think most people like about Trump is he is not wishy-washy. He says what he thinks and doesn't back down or apologize. I think a lot of Americans are tired of wishy-washy politicians. Politicians that pussyfoot around fearing they might upset someone if they said what they really thought.

@RichardMeister With the sudden turn-about of the media about Donald Trump , one will think if they were bribed already by him , to stop talking negative about him.

I'm not trying to sound mean, but in the US how and who we vote for is private. I take that privilege seriously. Besides that, I haven't made up my mind, yet. In the past I have voted for the third Independent Party candidate because I didn't like the two major party candidates. The main point I was trying to get across is how the media can change people's perspective, however, lately the media has backed down from doing this and is now stating that Trump is the overall leader in the polls.

@SIMPLYD I don't thing the media will ever stop talking negative about him. He says too many things that the media and other candidates like to make negative comments about.

A, don't worry so much about the media. . . I have the feeling that in the end George Pataki will be the eventual Republican nominee!
