Interesting, Top Rated, and Hot

Is it just me, or does each category (Interesting, Top Rated, and Hot) seem to contain the same list of discussions? I don't understand the difference between each of the categories in the "Explore" section. Can anyone explain?

I noticed the same thing. I have been "here" for a while, but have only been able to truly explore in the last 24 hours.

All lists are computer generated. The interesting list contains similar posts based on tags that you might have used in your interaction or something like that. It tries to find similar things. The top rated posts flip over every so often I think about every 24hours. Top rated are posts in order with the highest amount of likes at the top. Hot I'm not sure about. Maybe it is combination of likes and comments I'm not sure. Maybe someone else knows.
