Do You Keep A Journal?

I have about 50 of them. I have kept track of a lot of my life in journals. It's always fun to go back and read about my various adventures and news items from the past 60 years.
I think keeping a journal is important. It allows you to keep track of WHEN different events happened and if you also include your emotional thoughts for the day, you can see how the YOU that exists today, developed into the person you really are. Life experiences can change our outlook on any number of issues.
Also, I've always heard that persons who keep a journal are more calm and happier with their lives and with the people around them.
Do you think that is true?

Sometimes it's difficult to keep up with writing every day, but it's still a good idea.

@IreneVincent is it? Haha. Maybe not a just a thing for Filipinos. :) but you know where Ingo to check-out what I have done on a certain day? I go to facebook. But lately, I am not fond in sharing anything on it too.

@wiLLmaH I have a FB account but rarely go there anymore. Too much drama on FB for me. People saying ugly things. I don't care for that at all.

I know some young ones that do keep a diary. My granddaughter does.

Oh wow - that's a lot of journals... I don't really write and keep one. But I do keep practically every paperwork I come across to. Going back to some of them from 10 or so years ago kinda feel like going through a journal... I'm in the middle of sorting them out and hopefully I'll be able to throw away a good portion of them.

I keep all my articles I've written also and all my poems. Yes, I just purchased a cedar chest from a friend that was moving out of state and I put all my journals in it, as I come across them in my effort to be more organized and in cleaning out my office.
I'm not finished with that project yet but I have discarded lots of paperwork and kept a lot of things in a more organized manner since I started cleaning my office. It's a BIG job, because I was in business, self-employed for over 35 years. I am still finding things from several years ago that have no value to me now. I have shredded a lot of things to protect my past customers and I will continue to keep going until this room is empty of all that "stuff" I don't need any more.

@IreneVincent It does sound like you have a huge job... I'm good for those from the last decade or so. But I still have paperwork older than that stored and I really want to go through and get rid of them if I can.

@sishy7 I have cleared out a LOT of things and I'm seeing some progress now, but still have a lot to do. I hope to get lots more done this winter, when I stay home a lot, because of the weather.
