Getting old and sick fears

I don't think we should have a spirit of fear, but I have them just the same. I'm not afraid right now because I know I am safe. Unto death, I am safe. However, I worry about what if I have to go to a nursing home one day because I'm too much for my daughter to contend with. What if I have a stroke and become helpless. My daughter couldn't keep me clean and dry if she is on up in age herself. I worry about dirty nursing homes with bugs crawling over the bed stands and even on the bed at times. I've worked in dives like that too so I know which are good and which aren't in a couple of counties. I fear aspirating and choking in my sleep and no one is there to help. I'm scared of getting bedsores due to being immobile. There is more but you get the drift of where I come from in this discussion. Image from Pixabay.

You have mentioned several things many think about as they age. These are realistic concerns that will eventually have to be dealt with by all of us.
