I can take or leave interaction with people

I used to be more outgoing. I liked to talk to people, even if I Was a bit shy. Now I can take or leave interacting with people. I would rather leave it though. I like to be left to my own devices. I guess you could say I am not practiced in social situations anymore. I usually stay quiet as opposed to speaking and coming off awkward. As it goes, if it's not something I think is important, I don't want to talk about it. Selfishly, I don't want to hear about it either. I guess that's where you could say I'd rather be left alone. It's why I love my job. There are only five of us to interact with each other. We are usually more concerned with work than anything. I do enjoy chatting with my co-workers, but again, I can take it or leave it. Family interactions are the same. Sad as it seems, my family and I are all distant now. We sort of segregated ourselves into sections. I live with my grandparents and uncle, and we interact, but very seldom with cousins, aunts, and others.

Even family that I live with can be draining and tiresome to me. I can't abide negativity, you know?

I'm one of those social butterfly types. I like talking to people and having conversations. There are definitely certain people I'd rather not talk to. I like to talk though so I get along best with people who just listen and not the types who like to carry the conversation themselves.

@ScribbledAdNauseum Totally agree... There are some people I talk to that I wish would just stop talking sometimes! I tend to be more of a talker than a listener, so I get along best with listeners.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind listening. I just don't like the talking, and really prefer the genuine conversation from people who actually do care.

I feel the same. I do not do a lot of interacting with others. I am fairly selective.

Too many people don't really care about others anymore. SOme are just toxic people. I am for the genuine and real conversations, things that mean something.

That is the way life is. When people use technology too much, and they rather email than to talk to each other, everyone becomes strangers though they are still family in name.

Even without technology I would rather stay to myself. I suppose I just prefer genuine interaction, whether it be online or off.

I have often thought that the world has changed and now it is more difficult to interact with people. When I was a child, we played in the street and it wasn´t dangerous. Now my grandchildren play in their computers. Even dating starts now often online. This was unthinkable years ago.

People aren't as genuine as they used to be. There's so much more to be said, but that's one reason why I tend to keep to ,myself. I am happiest when selective with whom I converse.

I've always been shy and have to force myself even now to speak to someone, especially a stranger. As for family? I can take them or leave them and some feel the same about me too.

I don't talk to strangers very often at all. If I have to then I am always awkward about it.

some people are what we call loners and it seems like you maybe one who could be perfectly happy if you didn't have to deal with others there is nothing wrong with that .

I can fake it with the best of them but I'd rather not at the same time.
