High School Musical...

Our High School puts on a huge musical every March. They start casting and preparing for it starting about now.
My twins are still middle schoolers, but 2 years ago my daughter got a very small role in the High School Musical production of Shrek. She wasn't on stage very long, but it was exciting that she got into the musical as a 6th grader.
Last year none of my kids tried out for the play, but my son was on the stage crew so he helped with props and things like that.
This year my son auditioned for the play and actually got a role! It's not a speaking role, he's just a back up dancer and singer... but he will be in the high school musical this year and he's only an 8th grader. He's the only middle schooler to get a role this year! A bunch of middle school kids auditioned but didn't make it.

My older son was in the Choir for a couple of years in high school so he was a backup singer one year in a play.

I was in school plays in high school, but my daughter chose orchestra, band, and jazz band over plays.

My son is in band, pep band, marching band, drumline, both the middle school and high school jazz bands. He's also in chorus.
