Calling this a "random poem" because it's not in any particular form. The first and last lines rhyme, and the couplets in between (each two lines) rhyme. ;) So, a kind of "Poetry Sandwich". ;)

Stars in the sky
Lights on the tree;
Both of them are lovely to see
But God, Who placed the stars above
Sent, not a tree, but proof of His love.
He sent His Son, Who grew to be
The greatest Man in history.
He showed the love of God
As on this Earth He trod
And for our sins He came to die.

This format does seem rather odd
But I cannot resist the temptation
To respond with a similar creation
When they heard of the birth of Christ
Three wise men with gifts rare and spiced
Set out from far distant lands
To Bethlehem across hills and sands
But since wilderness had to be crossed
It was likely that they could get lost
But God had chosen to provide
A star to act as their guide
To ensure that they would survive
And at Bethlehem they would arrive
To worship the true Son of God
