Finally Got Some Shopping Done!

Yesterday I asked hubby if we could go shopping at a mall about an hour away. We need a big mall in our town; there just aren't any decent stores here. He agreed. I was a little worried with it being so close to Christmas. I knew the mall would be packed with shoppers and it would be hard to find a parking spot. Fortunately, though the lot was packed, there was the odd empty space so we parked right away. I slept in this morning so we got a rather late start but I figured the mall hours would be extended due to the holidays, and I was right. But It didn't matter. I think the mall would normally have closed at 6 and we were heading out the door at around 5:30. I don't think we got there until 3:00. We got a lot done. The place wasn't overly packed with people. At one store there was a super long line-up for the cashier but I was moved to another line which actually took me straight to a cashier. I hadn't even gotten in line yet. Maybe I got the express lane because I only had 4 items (store was Bath & Body Works). I think it was easier shopping with hubby because I wasn't as concerned about the money. He wasn't concerned so why should I be. I did tell him to take the opportunity to do some shopping himself as he always waits until Christmas Eve. We went into the jewelry store and he had me point out a few Pandora Christmas charms, then he told me to leave so he could buy one. LOL! I also noticed two extra bags from Bath & Body Works in his hands. So we got a lot done and I am feeling a lot more comfortable about Christmas. I only have to get one gift card, some candy (and stocking stuffers for hubby), and Christmas dinner groceries. I think that's all. So we weren't walking around for a long time, though we were walking in circles, my legs were starting to tire. After the hour long drive home I could barely walk as my legs had stiffened up.

That s good the mall wasn't too crowded and you didn't have to be long. Hope your legs are okay today. I have done lots and still have more. 12 grandkids, 2 great grandkids and then the kids and spouses make a long list.

@patgalca I am sure it will eventually be like that. My husband did give all his grandkids cheques this year. But we found some fun ways to present them. On the other hand my 90 year old aunt insisted I go shopping to get gifts for her to give. And wrap them. And deliver them. Even the one to myself. I tried to convince her none of us need a gift at all; she also takes us out for a lovely lovely brunch every holiday. Then I tried to convince her to let me just buy gifts (from her) for the young children (her great and great great nephews and nieces.) That was a no go also.

It's good to be done though. I am only good for a few hours shopping as well. My back is not great and gets sore easily.

Good that you are almost done. Tonight I am going to get a few things at the grocery store and that's it.
