First Day of Winter - Snow

Today is the official first day of winter and what do my wondering eyes behold?
No it wasn't Santa and his reindeer and a sleigh full of toys but a coating of snow. 
It doesn't look like the picture, but maybe before winter is over it will.
I am very happy with the sight of it. Now if only it would stay.

I got to see some snow before I came home, I could have done without having to drive in it though

@just4him I agree, especially in areas where people dont see that kind of weather enough to have a clue how to drive in it, like texas

@Jessicalynnt People just expect they can drive the same as they do without snow and then they wonder why they got into that accident.

looking awesome i had never feel the snow but very eager to go one day to snow place......
well my first winter day was not so cool as it was my examss by that time.

It would be nice if we could get some real snow, not just the kind that melts as soon as the weather warms up for the day.

Temps warmed up and the rain began melting the snow. It rained all day today as well. The wind is up right now and the lull we had in the rain a couple hours ago, has started up again. IF temps go low enough over night we could get snow, but I'm not holding on to that idea. We're supposed to be in the 40s today and tomorrow.

Rain rain and more rain yesterday. Today no rain so far but gloomy. Unusual weather for the Chicago area.

@fishtiger58 We had the howling wind too. I'm not surprised it gusted to 50 mph. It was that strong here too.

My first day of winter is upper 50's and lots of rain. Hope the snow stays for you and that you have a white Christmas. It is supposed to be around 68 degrees here in Massachusetts on Christmas day.

Those are unreal temps for this time of year. It didn't stay. It was gone as soon as it warmed up. It's been raining since. We're in the 40s.
