Poetry Slam

United States

I have seen a lot of posts revolving around poetry here lately. I know there are a few published authors here. I also know there are a few that desire to be. Do you remember those website that popped up in the late 90's early 00's? The ones that promised a poetry anthology book and your chance to be put in it? I don't remember all of the fees and such involved. I haven't come across one in a long time, but I wonder now about their validity. I was quite naive in the ways of online scams in those days. I coined myself something of a poet though. Now it is novella's that interest me the most. I don't think I could write a good poem if I tried.

Don't assume that short stories and novellas are easy either.

Well no, I didn't mean to imply. They are easier for me than poetry is all I meant.

I like poetry before. But now it seems that I can no longer write those.

There are still those poetry contests. I am not sure of their validity but I am sure some are legit. I am not a great poet, but I do enjoy reading them. Good luck with your novel NarniaYou know I would love to read it.

I don't read poetry much anymore myself. I do still love Emily Dickinson. I will read things in poetry format on facebook though. Oh and thank you.
