Going through the locks of the Canal du Midi in the south of France

A week holiday spent on the Canal du Midi going through the locks, enjoying the company of my family on board and the many activities on shore: biking, walking, visiting old towns, eating, having picnics, visiting wineries and restaurants, driving the boat, feeding ducks and enjoying the cicadas on the trees. Wonderful scenery and relaxing travelling along the Midi, greeting other travellers on boats like ours and going through tunnels and many old and narrow bridges along the way. Our best holiday ever! Bought book after trip and all the ingredients of an enjoyable holiday were all there, including the bagueetes and ducks!
