Ready for Christmas Now

So I made my mom's traditional corn flake cookies, at the same time I was making hubby a sandwich before he went to work. Got my daughter to jump in and help me out (so nice having her home). Then I attempted another recipe I saw on Facebook - Candy Cane Chocolate Bark. The directions were to melt a bag of chocolate chips, add a little oil, then pour onto wax paper and refrigerate. Did that, no problem. Then I was to melt a bag of white chocolate chips... which wouldn't melt. I added the oil, I added the peppermint extract, and the darn chips just wouldn't melt. It was like dough, pasty. After about an hour I spread the thick mixture on top of the chilled chocolate which melted the now hard chocolate and didn't spread very well. It was supposed to be liquidy and I would just have to pour it on. Why the heck did my white chocolate chips not melt? So I'm down one sweet treat for Boxing Day with my family. Oh well. I always bring a lot that doesn't get eaten anyway.
Then I tackled wrapping gifts. I did them all. A sales clerk at a store had suggested buying their water bottles, filling them with candy and burying the gift cards in the candy. Wonderful idea... if the cards would fit through the mouth of the dang water bottles. So I just filled these huge water bottles with candy. I'm sure they won't be happy with all that candy. I put the gift cards in the bag underneath the water bottles. We'll see if they notice them there. I even filled the stockings and put them away in my closet until Christmas Eve.
And all things wrapped I realized I had a couple of more gifts for one daughter than the other. So I ended out addressing the Selfie Game to both of them. But I still feel like I need another gift for my older daughter.
And now... Now I am dying. My back is in so much pain. I had a stomach ache (probably from popping a few too many candies while wrapping - I really shouldn't go to the Bulk Barn for candy. I always end out with a lot more than it looks like I'm getting at the time). Now I'm just sitting in bed waiting for my pain killers to kick in and hopefully fall asleep.
As soon as I get up in the morning I have to put the turkey in the oven and peel the veggies. This is turning into one exhausting Christmas.
