January Sales

It is that time of year again where people go mad for cheap, last season goods. Photos of people fighting over cheap bags will have surfaced again and I'm sitting at home thinking about why do people bother? I will be going shopping on Monday though as I need new trainers and would also like some nice flat shoes to wear if I'm going somewhere special. I don't plan to fight people or overspend though and wouldn't bother if it wasn't for the fact my current trainers have split completely in two!. Are other people sale shopping this year or are they being more sensible with their cash?

I strolled into town (my Mum's town) and bought a beautiful pair of blue suede boots and then strolled home. Nobody around, no fighting, no frenzy.

Where did you go, somewhere up North lol. Having said that I was in town (Plymouth) Christmas eve and it wasn't busy.

I haven't ventured out, and probably won't tomorrow either. Saw the photos online of people queuing from 2am for the Next sale though. Personally, I'd rather do without and get a decent night's sleep!

@euphie I have NEVER understood people queuing for NEXT. There's nothing in that store that I'd take if they were giving it away.

I always find it's the silly season were people go mad, must be something to do with the full moon or something.

Think Christmas in general has that effect on some people

I will be out sale shopping a little later in the season when the prices are really low and I have coupons as well. I am a bargain hunter but I avoid the crowds.

That's normally when I have a look in the sales too - things are cheaper then and there's not the same fighting to get near sales items.

I only buy things I really need and only if I have the money.
