My Creative Side Is On The Prowl

My creative side of my brain sometimes pops up unexpectedly and gets me to thinking about new projects. Right now I am thinking about making bath salts. I haven't tried it but how hard can it be? I think it might just make a wonderful little gift for Christmas next year. I could package the salts in a mason jar, decorate them and make them pretty, then give as a gift. I could make it personal by making a different scent for each person. What do you think? Good idea or bad?

@jstory07 it's something I haven't made yet for a gift. I like to make new things.

@antonbunot they smell so pretty and can make your skin so soft. I have to think of something else for men. Have any ideas?

Why are you thinking of next Christmas already?

Every year I always buy for the next year in January. But since we are moving I will not be doing that.

@marlina I'm not sure. I usually don't start thinking about making gifts until the end of January.

@jstory07 I think Christmas most of the year. I like to be prepared. Where are you moving to?

For me it would not make a good gift but some people like things like that. They can be decorated very nicely.

@HazySue That would probably be the best to do is look into some bath products and then decide on what you want to do.

@Marcyaz I am a shower taker myself but most of the people I would make it for take baths. Maybe I should look into bath products and then decide.

If the people on your gift list take baths its a good idea. I don't take baths, just showers.

@HazySue I can figure out making bath salts, but how would you make shower gel?

@AbbyGreenhill for someone like who doesn't take baths I would have to make a shower gel or something.

You could give them for birthdays as well or you could give one just to put a smile on ones face.

@HazySue That's probably the best way to look at things thinking of that smile you helped bring to their face.

It's harder than you may think. I tried it a few years ago. I like them. Actually, I should say my son tried to make them. It was his idea. We had fun trying to get them just right. We got a kit that had oils to make them scented.

Sounds good to me - it beats some of the fancy cosmetics I've been given this year, which I will never use.

@jaboUK I typically like things that are homemade. Some of the salts in the store are too sweet smelling.

Personally, I wouldn't even know what to do with bath salts.

@boiboing if you are a shower person you wouldn't. That's when you might use them once in a blue moon to relax in the tub.
