i think some people use church as a crutch. i mean the physical building itself. we've been told that where two or more are gathered so shall i be there. that doesn't mean you need to be in a physical building to love and worship the lord. i just like surrounding myself with all of god's goodness--plants, animals, people, beautiful skies(or rainy ones, as god sees fit). so for me it's not a crutch. i don't judge those that i think are using it as a crutch--everyone needs to be able to serve him in their own way, it's his place to judge, not mine. now as far as legitimate, well, physical churches, organized religion, those are all organizations that are out to make money, they have overhead expenses to cover, they are legitimate, yes. i guess the question is are they really out to do the work god intended them to do? i believe each one of them needs to be evaluated on an individual basis. there are a lot of good churches and good pastors. there are also just as many out for the buck instead of doing the good work. what do you think, stefano?
