Would you go on a tv show to try to get big earnings?

I was watching some tv with my wife and she brought up how she would like to go on tv. Now she doesn't want to be an actress. She wants to go on a game show like family feud or something like that. She thinks that it would be fun. The question we were wondering is how hard it would be to make it in to be a contestant on one of the shows. Chopped seems like fun. Family feud is funny but I know its always easier to think when you are sitting at home on your couch watching it. We yell at the tv pointlessly as if they could hear us yelling ideas and answers. We get caught up in the moment and its fun. The idea of winning makes us all want to give it a crack. Are there any tv shows that you have thought at one time or another that you may want to be on?

What's My Line, but I don't think it exists any more. I look more like a baseball coach than a psychologist, so I think I could fool people.

I think it would be fun! Just, I would probably be extremely nervous and would not want to make a fool out of myself!

@infatuatedbby I think if you find a show where you don't have to do all kinds of crazy things it makes you feel more comfortable and you might be able to relax and enjoy it more.

I think that crosses everyone's mind but when you think of the money or that it was something you to do that most people don't get to do I think that will not be on your mind as much .

Your question spurred me to action. I keep thinking that I would like to be on Jeopardy, so not I have drawn up a plan. I have to gather more knowledge than both Brad Rutter (Jeopardy's biggest prize winner) and Kevin Ashman, considered to be the world's greatest quiz player, former World quiz champion. I need to focus on the topics I don't know enough about: * American History * Oscars & film trivia * Billboard charts (particularly the more recent years) * American authors

That is a really tough challenge to achieve. i wish you the best of luck on that and if you make it on to the show let us know so we can all watch you go head to head with the smart guy.

@lokisdad First task learn those subjects I am poor on. I have decided to publish articles on each of these subjects - this way I am more likely to remember the answers, because they will be part of something I had published.

@pgiblett that's brilliant you can also practice trivia with friends to help prep you in the subjects you need to cover.

I think for the chance at winning big money doing something that probably be fun I would try it but if I never get the chance yelling at the tv will be okay.

I have been thinking about Jeopardy, trouble is there are some categories I wouldn't do well in, usually relating to celebrities or US history (being from the other side of the pond).
