Seven Memories from My Childhood

This was started by Lori A Moore. So here's my list. 1. The park had a nice hill. At the bottom was a major road. I was maybe 5 or 6 and I would roll down that hill. It was so much fun. I always came to a stop at the sidewalk, so never ended up in the road, good thing. Mom never found out. 2. Grandma's house. We would slide down the stairs on our bellies head first. What fun. 3. Blue Angels air show at KI Sawyer Air Force Base in Upper Michigan. 4. Mackinac Island. I loved the Grand Hotel, all the fudge shops, and the re-enactment of a Revolutionary War battle. 5. Trout Lake Campground - though I hate camping, I did like this campground. It had a loggers camp and two trails you could walk. I spent a lot of time at both the trails and the loggers camp. 6. The night we spent at Grandma's house and the northern lights were seen. First we saw all the different colors on our walls, then we went outside and saw them. It was great. A once in a lifetime event for this part of the country. 7. Ice skating. The first time I went they put me in the middle of the whip. It was great fun skating all over the ice and watching as people were flung off the end of the whip. I could skate real good by the end of the day. Okay, so there's my list. I had to do some real brainstorming on this one. Now it's your turn. What are your seven memories from your childhood? Thanks for reading.

One of mine would be watching the Wizard of Oz on TV every year at our baby sitter's house.

I loved your list. I had to think hard about those seven, but I admit, they were fun.

Not a clue what you mean by being on a whip while skating and how that helped you learn and all. I'm adding some tags so we all can find this again easier, maybe. (nope, it looks like you have to add them to your post for it to do any good).

@just4him When you say the whole name it sort of rings a bell, but I doubt that I like to be on the end, as I never skated that well. If you want others to find this post, those that wrote one and other interested parties, you may want to add on at least 'childhood memories' to your list of tags.

I would love to see the Northern lights. They were seen in parts of the UK late last year but further north than us

I've never seen them since. It was unusual for them to be this far south. Someday I would like to see them again.

@just4him and the scar is my trade mark now, It makes me recall how I fell off the chair while calling my elder brother because I saw a lizard at the broken cement, where I broke my nose and left a scar

How sad for your brother. I'm sure if they knew the truth you wouldn't be able to slide down the stairs anymore. Too bad about his wrist.

I will have to think on this one. I see the Blue Angels all the time practicing and the only show I went to was as a child.

It was a rare sight for me and so much fun to watch. I remember after the show we were even able to go into one of the planes on the base, not the Blue Angels planes, but one of the older planes they had there.
