By now I suppose you've heard that actor Wayne Rogers has died. He died New Year's Eve of pneumonia at his home in California at the age of 82. Most of his obituaries have spoken about his most famous role being Trapper John McIntyre on the first three seasons of the classic TV series M*A*S*H.. However, I haven't seen any of them mention his role in another classic: Cool Hand Luke. That's right. Wayne Rogers was in Cool Hand Luke.. He played "Gambler," the prisoner who was in charge of the wagering that went on between the prisoners. Anytime someone wanted to wager on something (such as whether or not Luke could eat 50 eggs in an hour), Gambler would say, "Hey, Babalugats, got a bet here!" (Babalugats was played by Dennis Hopper.) In addition to his acting talents, Rogers was a wise investor. He owned property, vineyards, and even started his own investment advice company. He was seen as frequently on business programs as he was on M*A*S*H reruns. Farewell to Wayne Rogers.

I am not good on names/faces especially when it comes to actors so even if I saw that movie I wouldn't know him from my second cousin twice removed!

I saw on those Fox business shows toward the end of his life while catching him quite young on reruns such as Gunsmoke.
