My friend says to me,'How long will you go on wishing Happy New Year to everyone you know or come across?Don't you see,2016 is already in?The year that was New Year till yesterday is now two days old. It's high time you stopped wishing Happy New Year.' Do you agree with him?

No, your friend is mistaken as you can wish someone a Happy New Year for a few more weeks if you want to and nothing is wrong with that.

@Jessicalynnt,I,for one, would go on wishing others till March.By that time the year gets old.I,however, feel newness or oldness of something is in your heart, not in days.

No, I won't agree, we can say happy new year to someone or to our friends until a week or more days of this month.

@else34 Yes we have only good intentions to spread the cheer of the season around, so why should others judge or limit us? siva

I still wish people a Happy New Year, especially those who I have not greeted yet. I do not think there is something wrong with it. Of course by the middle of January, I think I already wished everyone that I care about a happy new year.
