Youtube Red? I am a little confused

I accidentally clicked on something within youtube that brought me to a "free trial" for the service. I was confused so went to look it up on google. Apparently it's a $10.00 a month service where you can have Zero ads. It says it does NOT apply to paid channels. I was a little confused about the terminology used and thought I'd pop here to ask you all. I would not want to sign up for this anyway as the ads do not bother me. However, I worry if this will affect the youtubers who use the site for an income. "Paid channels" ? Does that mean it won't change anything to do with those who use the site to earn? If so would the youtubers get a percentage of the revenue coming in for red? This is the article I skimmed through : Would you get this service ? Honestly I think it's a waste, the ads do not take too long and I watch youtube content creators, the ads help them.
YouTube's new subscription service, Red, is out now. Here's why you might want to sign up.

I actually wrote about this. Some programming is available only on YouTube Red.

Honestly I only skimmed through the article I cited above. My whole premise for this discussion was whether it would take away revenue from the content creators.

True. I think that is not need. It's an unnecessary service for me.

Yes I read about that Narnia..it seems YouTube is charging now. I am not paying it so far. I would miss it if I did not have access to it.
