I have seen The Hidden Fortress - it has a few ideas that could have inspired elements of Star Wars, a bolshy Princess who isn't entirely grateful for being rescued and two comic relief samurai who have a touch of R2 & C3 about them, but then, Laurel & Hardy were doing that before The Hidden Fortress - good film but not one of Kurosawa's best
