Who would've thought we would see this day at the very start of the new year. Woke up this morning, went onto facebook to check whether my uncle had put up the pictures he clicked of us yesterday. (Hes down from Canada for the holidays). While browsing through my newsfeed I see an alert that someone shared which was put up by our well know local newspaper "Indiatimes". The headlines read "Big Earthquake coming, warn MHA experts" I quickly opened the shared post only to find that there is an earthquake prediction of over 8.2 magnitude that is due anytime in the region of North India. The ring of fire that is garlanding the mountainous region has tectonic plates that are constantly shifting. Ever since the Nepal quake, the stress has increased and not all of it has been released hence causing the earthquake in Manipur on 4th. Experts say the Manipur quake was a seismic warning to the north east region of India. I think its time we wake up and be alert. This whole thing is extremely scary. Please extend your prayers to the people of India.

Impact of any disaster is terrible, and earthquake is no exception. The northern and north-eastern part of India has always been prone to earthquake.
