a safe haven

My bed was my safe haven all day. My tablet, a fictional young adult novel about a futuristic flooded world, copious cups of tea and lots of sleep. I still feel lousy, but less lousy than I would have done if I'd forced myself into work. This evening we watched the very last episode of Haven. There may be spoilers contained within the next few lines, so if you haven't seen it please close your eyes, or stick your fingers in your ears. Okay, I like a happy ending. Who doesn't? However, when some long-running series end it seems the norm to ensure it has a fabulously happy ending. Why? We all know that life is tough and horrid things occur. I feel a bit let down, as if someone has let me lick a mint-chocolate ice-cream after promising it was vanilla. Boo. The tagline for the final series was 'Who will end Haven?' Who indeed? I believe it was local scallywag Duke, and yet he died. Nathan died, was brought back to life by Audrey's daddy - none other than Captain Jim from the Starship Enterprise - lost Audrey to the Barn, but then got Audrey back in the guise of an ignorant Paige with very dark hair. And the son who was conceived twenty-seven years earlier and died just recently. Even Dwight got his daughter back. And Duke? Nope, still dead. I'm disappointed-ish. I suspect that if you've made it this far you're probably a trifle confused. Apologies for that. Sleep, here I come. *yawn*

Yup - I'm confused as I never watch that so don't know what you are talking about. But I do hope that you feel better.
