Suggestions: What to Pair With Red Wine for Dessert

I am not a drinker. I do not like drinking alcohol, but I am trying to like drinking wine for a better meal experience especially when we are dining out. I decide to start on something sweet - sweet red and white wines, but I cannot even finish one glass. Some friends suggested having wine with some light snacks, like cheese and chocolates. I have tried drinking merlot with Brookside chocolates, and I end up eating the whole bag of chocolates and my glass was still 3/4 full. I tried string cheese with red wine, even switched it, but I ended up finishing the cheese. Any other suggestions on what other snacks which go well with wine?
