There was news today that there is a county where there is no BCG. For those who may not know,BCG is a vaccine given to children with 15 days after birth and it is meant to prevent TB. In this county this vaccine has not been available since December. To add salt to the injury it won't be available in the next 6 months. How many children will be born within those 6 months? Now that this has been aired i hope the government will do something

I hope so too. It would be terrible to turn the clock backwards and live with the threat of losing children to inferior health care.

And to imagine these parents may not be able to access private hospitals due to their financial status

@Missmwngi Being poor is the terrible lot of many people. I hope the government does something about the vaccine.

I hope others will join you in raising their voices and this issue will be corrected quickly. Children's entire lives are being impacted.

It is sad that there are inefficient supplies for all babies to receive this vaccine. It is life saving.

I hope it does make a difference but there must be a reason that they have no vaccine?

Thats not right. TB is deadly if not treated. Poor kids. Now they will be vulnerable to this sickness.

Can they give it to the children when it becomes available? Maybe the 15 days is a guideline only. Is there a lot of TB in your country? I don't recall hearing about this vaccine before.

It is recommended to be administered within 15 days after birth. There are times Tb was common and since it started the rate has gone low
