Habit of Reading

India

I believe many of us have a habit of reading books. They can be fiction and non-fiction. How was the year 2015 for all of you in terms of reading. I had a good year as I finished reading 27 books. New year has started and today is the 10th day but yet to start reading for 2016. Want to achieve more than I did in 2015. Also are any of you waiting desperately for any new book by your favourite author or any sequel. I am waiting for the last part of a trilogy by an Indian author and another one is "Cometh the Hour" in Clifton chronicles by Jeffrey Archer.

I love magazines, sometimes it's almost as good as buying a book. VANITY FAIR is my favorite.

a book worm is a lover of words. books make people more articulate. you have an amazing number of books you have read the past year. simultaneous readers read a lot of books at the same time so they finish a lot.

I envy people who can read more than one book at a time.

Jeffery Archer is heavily criticised here for his political and financial wrong-doings and regarded as a poor author too - I read a few of his books which I disliked - hope you enjoy his work though

Yes, I have read about him in Wiki. But I liked his works. To be frank I have read only the Clifton chronicles which is a series of seven books. Out of which five I have finished and the sixth is due this Feb. Apart from that I have read one collection of short stories. So, I have not read much of his works but whichever I have read, I have thoroughly enjoyed.

Great that you read Hindi novels. I guess you have read the works of Premchand. I have heard about his works but never read.

I have been out of touch with the books for several months now, I'm just finishing up Tim Cope's travelogues and Khaled Hosseini novels. I have to search more regarding what books are going to be released this year. I am an avid bookworm, but time hasn't been on my side lately. Hopefully after the exam ends next week, I'll start reading books and finishing them full-fledged.

Academics are more important. Once your exams are over you can start from where you had left.

I love reading books. I'm a member of the local library. Currently I'm reading Sepulchre by Kate Mosse. It is a wonderful book. Which Indian author book are you waiting for?

I've always enjoyed reading books. Ever since I was a kid. I didn't get the chance to read as many books as I may have liked last year, but I did get the chance to read a few books. My life is just so busy. So long as I get the chance to read a little every day, I'm happy.

I am notorious for starting multiple books but do not finish them at my set goal of finishing them. And what's worse is I already have new books to read and I have not even finished the first batch! But that is going to change now. I have finished 2 short fictional romance books from new authors, and now I am going to read another fictional historical one from another new author. My goal now is to read and give new authors who self-published their works on kindle a chance because some of them are really good. I even first read Veronica Roth's Divergent series for free through kindle's selection of free ebooks for new authors.

2015 was a good year of reading for me. I discovered Dennis Lehane's books, Lee Childs published another Jack Reacher and Stephen King delivered as always. John Sanford has a new Virgil Flowers out, but instead of a new Prey story he wrote some science fiction tale - ughh, I hate science fiction.
