This is national Highway 5, between Chennai and Kolkotta (Previously Culcutta). It passes through Tamilnadu, Andhra Pradesh, Orissa, Bihar and then to West Bengal. Now this highway is 4-laned with Golden Quadrangle Program. I drove from Chennai to Visakhapatnam last year during Diwali Season. During that time there was a heavy cyclone in Bay of Bengal. And NH-5 is completely flooded. But, by the time I started, luckly the rain subdued and had a peaceful trip. Some photos from the trip.
