There is an unequal bargaining power between employer and employees.
In most cases, the employees have lesser power. That is why they have to form labor union.
In some rare cases, a particular employee has the utmost bargaining power.
That can be due to his special skill, his salary in relation to the skill or the rarity of the skilled employees in the country.
I admire my colleague who belongs to this group of rare employees with bargaining power.
He can get away with many things.
When he makes a mistake, and receives a bad appraisal, he can force his manager to change the appraisal.
If not, he will go, and the company cannot afford to lose him.
Even if the company is willing to pay very high salary, it cannot find anyone with his skill.
