Do You Mind Speak?

A friend of mine always speaks her mind not minding if the people around her would be hurt. She said when she knows she is right, she does not care if people will hate her, saying she is not afraid if friends will avoid her. That way, she said, she can correct wrongdoings right away instead of talking at the their backs or using a grapevine to send the message. She does it even when posting on Facebook. She is not afraid of what people might say, but of course she knows the rules when it comes to using social media sites. Do you speak your mind, or you use channels to relay the message, whether the target person is a family member or a friend?

It is not wrong to speak your mind and be straight forward but then at the same time there is a difference between being upfront and being mean. You can speak your mind without being mean and disrespectful too. All you need to do is speak out in a polite manner.

Thanks, @cxndie, one can be creative enough to tell somebody about his/her mistake. It can be done in a fine manner without hurting the person.

Yes posting in social media is not proper. If you have issue against anyone it is better to settle the matter between the two of you. Telling the person directly what his fault is or whatever is your concern is always the best. Using social media is the same as embarrassing him in front of other people.

@salonga Yes, that is true . And i also hate it when i see someone cursing because of something or even voicing out their dislike in a thing . Why do they have to let the people know that ? I find it so cheap . As if they weren't educated people .

@salonga true, we should be careful posting in social media about some personal problems or misunderstanding between friends/relatives. There should be some privacy.

I don't want to have friends like that, there are ways to express yourself with out hurting ones feelings. I really do hope she ends up being alone if she keeps this up, people like that doesn't realize she's putting down people who aren't ready to handle issue or doesn't need to answer to you.

@acelawrites and not every one is open minded to deal with what others say about them. others are too sensitive that they think they are being put down.

You are right, as we get older, we learn so much and have control of ourselves, even when speaking. We weigh the situation well if being blunt will hurt the person or not. Thanks for the reply, @simone.

not all the times, what she thought was right. It seems that she has a very high pride over things. People like her will find themselves someday alone and not appreciated, if they keep doing that.

I have a disability that I cant control and I just speak my mind and I wish I didnt. If I could control it I would. But yes some people should speak their minds more often so it does not boggle up in my opinion.

Thanks,@hellopeeps . Sometimes I get conscious about it, but sometimes I don't; sometimes being so tactless but later I feel so sorry about it.

I am honest but tactful as you can speak your mind but do not need to hurt peo ple unless the person is being grossly stupid then I do speak my mind bluntly and directly not softening as its needed to stop some stupidity

Yes, @Hatley, it is alright to speak directly or be frank with a person depending on his/her openness or outlook. There are people who are so onion-skinned you can not talk to them directly about things you wanted to convey.

I don't use social media but I speak my mind. Sometimes it would certainly be better not to do it so frankly.

Thanks, @MALUSE, I agree, we should be wary using the social media to vent some woes and be frank about it because some people may not understand.
