They Don't Like What I Post on my Facebook...

...because it's all bible verses. You see I started a daily devotional bible reading and it sends me a reminder through an app on my phone. I then have an option if I want to share it on Instagram, which is linked to my Facebook. And whenever I find a bible verse that touched me, I share it on my Facebook. I am not pushing my beliefs to anybody, never! I also use my own photographs as background for the verses to make it more presentable. Then I heard that some people don't like it. Well I am not sure who they are because the one who told me won't tell me (hmmmm...). But they are free to unfollow me or block me or even unfriend me if they do not like the posts. Respect begets respect, so I hope they realize that I will surely appreciate if they will respect their choice to share as much as I respect theirs.

You have the right to post whatever you like on facebook. If some people don't like it , Oh well.

I am not religious or anything, but I have friends who post quotes, photos and whatever inspirational to them. I don't mind and just continue on if it doesn't relate to me. As long as my friend is happy, I'm fine with it also.

To each his own, as they say.

It's a free world. You're free to post and they are free to ignore the posts or stop following you. I don't know why people have such problems.

Clearly their world revolves on Facebook alone?

If I were going to post Bible verses, I'd post commentary on how they affect or inspire me. But that's just me.

That's a good way of sharing it.

If I saw someone posting only Bible verses on Facebook, I'd feel pretty sure they were pushing their own beliefs, rather than simply sharing ideas they find interesting or inspirational. If, however, they also posted brief quotes from other texts, I would be less likely to think that. What else do you read that's worth talking about or sharing?

You really think merely posting is making someone feel like it is being shoved down their throats? It is a harmless share, pretty much like when someone would always share a political belief. I see posts who are more of something and another, posting only recipes, or funny videos, or other religious beliefs, but I do not feel like they are pushing me to do what they're doing. I saw it, I may like it or not, then I move on. I would not go as far as telling someone that I don't like it. Like I said, there is unfollow or untried which is better than starting something. Anyway, people have different interests and I think its worth sharing. Diversity allows us to learn if we keep an open mind. Any negativity and mature themed posts, for me, should be kept out of social media especially those which kids can access to. Just my two cents.

It is alright to post Bible verses. But Facebook users have the option to read or disregard it, as you said, you are not "pushing" them to like what you shared.

Exactly. I am also wondering what's the motive why my "friend" told me that others don't like it, but won't tell me who they are so I can restrict what they can see on my page. I wish she never told me in the first place, but part me is glad that she did.
